What We Believe

ABOUT GOD

God has forever existed as three distinct persons:  the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  He created everything out of nothing.
Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; I Peter 1:2; II Corinthians 13:14

ABOUT THE BIBLE

The Bible is God’s love letter to us.  It was written by men chosen of God under the direction of the Holy Spirit.  It is therefore complete truth.
Psalm 119:105, 160; Proverbs 30:5; II Timothy 1:13; II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20, 21

ABOUT JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ is God’s Son and equal to the Father.  He has always existed, and lived on earth for awhile as fully God and fully man at the same time.  Jesus lived a perfect sinless life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind.  He was buried and three days later defeated sin and death by rising from the grave.  He ascended to Heaven and will return to earth to reign as King.

ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit IS a full and equal part of the Trinity.  He works in the world to help people understand their need for Jesus Christ.  The Holy Spirit lives inside each believer from the moment they decide to follow Him.  He is the source for every believer to do life, ministry and grow spiritually.  To allow the Holy Spirit to work freely in our lives, we have to yield to Him continually.

ABOUT MAN

Man is the greatest of God’s creations and the only one He made in His own spiritual image, with the ability to choose right from wrong.  Because of Adam’s fall, the first man; we inherited his nature to be disobedient to God.  This disobedience is called sin and keeps us separated from God.  Our relationship with God can only be restored through Jesus Christ.  With a restored relationship with God, we can become the person He created us to be.
Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; Isaiah 59:1, 2; Romans 3:23

ABOUT The CHURCH

The church is made up of believers in Jesus Christ, called the body of Christ.  Jesus Christ is the head of the Church.  The purpose for the church is to worship God, teaching, biblical principles, pray, baptize, participate in Communion, fellowship, serve and reach out to others.

ABOUT THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST

God, in His own time and in His own way will bring the world to its appropriate end.  According to His promise, Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to earth.  The dead will be raised and Christ will judge all men in righteousness.
